Sync back to Snowflake

Requirement

You need a Catalog managed Snowflake integration to push back information to it

How to

On your Integration tab (in Settings), click on the Sync back to Snowflake button

What can you sync back to Snowflake ?

Within our Snowflake Sync back feature, you can push back a description to your tables and columns in Snowflake (also referenced as a comment)

1. Write as many descriptions as you want into Catalog

2. Request a Sync back to Snowflake

3. Once notified that the Sync back succeeded, your comments are updated in Snowflake

What happens if a descriptions already exists in Snowflake ?

• Catalog will not overwrite any existing description

• You can write and store another description in Catalog however

  • Once you decide to delete the existing description in Snowflake, a Sync back will be able to push the description you wrote in Catalog to Snowflake!

Do I need to provide additional access?

The level of permission of the existing integration remains unchanged.
